Morocco’s airports handled 29.3 million passengers during the first nine months of 2026, according to figures reported by Hespress English on October 27.
The passenger traffic figure highlights the growing importance of air transport to Morocco’s tourism sector, international business connections and wider economy.
Airports play a central role in connecting Morocco with European, African and other international destinations. Increased passenger traffic can support airlines, hotels, restaurants, transport providers and other businesses that depend on visitors.
However, passenger growth alone does not show how much tourism revenue remains in the country or how evenly the economic benefits are distributed. Airport capacity, transport links, service quality and investment will also influence how the sector develops.
Morocco has been investing in tourism and transport infrastructure as it prepares for major international sporting events in the coming years.
The latest passenger figures provide an important indicator of activity in the aviation sector, although full-year results will be needed to assess the overall performance of 2026.
