Moroccan Prosecutors Release Suspect Pending Further Investigation in Casablanca Case

Rabat, Morocco – Morocco’s Public Prosecutor has ordered the release of an individual identified by the initials A.M. after he was formally questioned over allegations under investigation, while confirming that judicial inquiries into the case remain ongoing.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the King’s Prosecutor at the Casablanca Correctional Court, the decision follows an initial review of the evidence gathered so far and complies with the legal safeguards provided under Moroccan law.

Investigation Continues Despite Release

Judicial authorities stressed that releasing the individual does not signify the end of the investigation. Instead, prosecutors have chosen to continue examining the case while awaiting the outcome of additional technical analyses considered essential to determining the facts.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office indicated that further legal action, if warranted, will be decided only after all investigative procedures have been completed.

Questioned Under Judicial Safeguards

Before the release order was issued, A.M. appeared before prosecutors for questioning regarding the allegations made against him.

Officials stated that the proceedings were conducted in accordance with Morocco’s legal framework and that the individual benefited from all procedural rights and protections guaranteed by law throughout the process.

These safeguards included access to a medical examination during the judicial proceedings.

Seized Electronic Devices Returned

As part of the decision, prosecutors also ordered the return of personal items that had been confiscated during the investigation.

The returned property included:

• Two laptop computers;
• A USB storage device;
• A mobile phone.

Authorities did not disclose the nature of the allegations or provide additional details regarding the ongoing technical examinations.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that the investigation remains active and that no final judicial conclusions have been reached.

Officials reiterated that any future legal measures will depend on the results of the remaining investigative work and technical assessments currently being carried out.
