Rabat, October 22, 2025 (MAP) — In a grand celebration of Morocco’s historic football triumph, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, acting on the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chaired a special ceremony on Wednesday at the Royal Palace in Rabat honoring the members of Morocco’s U-20 national football team, newly crowned World Champions.
The ceremony, offered by the Sovereign, paid tribute to the Atlas Cubs for their remarkable victory at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Chile — a landmark achievement that marks the first world title in the history of Moroccan and Arab football.
Upon his arrival, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan was greeted by Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, head coach Mohamed Ouahbi, and members of the national team. The Crown Prince then posed for a commemorative photo with the champions before a tea ceremony was held in their honor, celebrating their success and dedication.

This royal reception underscores the deep and constant attention that His Majesty King Mohammed VI devotes to the development of youth and sports, particularly football, as a driving force for national pride and international recognition.
The U-20 team’s world title victory stands as a shining example of the visionary leadership of His Majesty the King, whose strategic investment in sports infrastructure — notably through the Mohammed VI Football Academy — has transformed Morocco into a powerhouse for nurturing young talent and elevating the nation’s sporting standards to global levels.
In his message to the players following their 2–1 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final, His Majesty the King praised the team for honoring the Kingdom and its youth, commending their discipline, perseverance, and collective spirit that brought glory not only to Morocco but to the entire African continent.
As Morocco celebrates this unprecedented triumph, the Atlas Cubs’ victory symbolizes hope, unity, and excellence, reflecting a new era of achievement in Moroccan sports — one driven by ambition, resilience, and royal guidance.
