On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of His ascension to the Throne, His Majesty King Mohammed VI addressed a heartfelt speech to the Moroccan people, celebrating the strong bond of loyalty and affection that unites the Monarch with his people while highlighting Morocco’s progress and ambitions for the future.
The King’s Throne Day speech, delivered from Tétouan, served as a moment of reflection and vision, blending pride in past accomplishments with a clear call for continued reform, development, and resilience.
A Celebration of Unity and Purpose
“Throne Day is not only a moment of celebration,” said the King, “but a time to renew the unwavering allegiance that binds us and to assess where we stand as a nation—measuring both achievements and the challenges ahead.”
King Mohammed VI reaffirmed his lifelong commitment to building a modern, united, and advanced Morocco, driven by inclusive economic and human development, and anchored in political and institutional stability.
A Visionary Path to Development
The Sovereign emphasized that Morocco’s current standing is no accident. Rather, it reflects a long-term national vision, carefully laid out and sustained by coherent and strategic decisions. These efforts have been supported by the country’s strong security, political stability, and enduring institutions.
“Despite years of drought and a complex international context,” said the King, “the Moroccan economy has maintained a steady and significant growth rate.”
An Industrial Renaissance and Global Reach
King Mohammed VI proudly noted the remarkable transformation of Morocco’s industrial landscape. Since 2014, industrial exports have more than doubled, particularly in sectors like:
- Automotive manufacturing
- Aerospace
- Renewable energy
- Agri-food industries
- Tourism
These sectors, the King explained, are now key engines of job creation and investment, positioning Morocco as a reliable and diversified partner on the international stage.
With a network of free trade agreements connecting Moroccan goods and services to over 3 billion consumers, the country’s outward-facing economy is flourishing. “Morocco is a true land of investment,” he stressed.
Bold Infrastructure and Sovereignty Projects
The King highlighted major infrastructure developments that align with Morocco’s long-term strategic vision, including:
- The extension of the high-speed rail line (LGV) from Kenitra to Marrakech.
- A series of flagship projects in water security, food sovereignty, and energy independence—pillars of national resilience.

In closing, His Majesty made clear that no economic or infrastructural success is complete if it does not benefit the people directly.
“No level of economic or infrastructural development will ever satisfy Me unless it serves the well-being of our citizens.”
He called for inclusive progress, social cohesion, and reforms that uphold dignity, reduce inequality, and offer real opportunities to all Moroccans, particularly the vulnerable.
