In an official statement released by the medical team, it was confirmed that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, successfully underwent surgery on His left shoulder at the Royal Palace Clinic in Rabat. The surgery was necessitated following an injury sustained during a routine sporting activity.
Details of the Incident and Medical Procedure
On Sunday, December 8, 2024, His Majesty suffered a fall that resulted in a fracture to the humerus of His left shoulder. After a thorough medical evaluation, the decision was made to proceed with surgery to address the injury. The surgical procedure was performed by a distinguished team of medical experts:
- Professor Belyamani Lahcen, personal physician of His Majesty the King
- Professor Zine Ali
- Professor Bouabid Salim
- Professor Benchekroun Mohammed
The team, comprised of traumatology specialists from the Mohammed V Military Training Hospital in Rabat, reported that the operation was a success.
Following the surgery, His Majesty’s left shoulder will remain immobilized for a period of 45 days. This will be followed by a structured period of functional rehabilitation to ensure a full recovery.
