Rabat, November 6, 2024 – Morocco’s Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) has celebrated the grand opening of the first ‘Eyrolles’ bookstore on the African continent, marking a significant step in promoting educational resources and fostering intellectual growth. The new bookstore, located on the UM6P campus in Benguerir, is a joint venture with Eyrolles, one of France’s most reputable publishers, renowned for their vast collections on science, technology, business, and the arts.
The inauguration ceremony, attended by academics, students, and representatives from the Eyrolles group, was a testament to Morocco’s commitment to advancing education and cultural exchange. The new bookstore aims to offer a diverse selection of books, including technical manuals, scientific publications, and academic resources, catering to both university students and the wider public.
Dr. Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P, expressed pride in this collaboration, noting that the Eyrolles bookstore aligns with the university’s mission to provide innovative educational opportunities. “Our partnership with Eyrolles is part of UM6P’s larger vision to make high-quality resources accessible to our students and to the community at large,” he stated. “We are committed to supporting Morocco’s knowledge economy and encouraging lifelong learning.”
The Eyrolles bookstore also plans to host workshops, seminars, and book signings, making it a dynamic cultural hub for students, researchers, and professionals across Morocco and Africa.
This initiative not only broadens access to knowledge but also strengthens the university’s role as a beacon for intellectual and scientific exchange in Africa. As Eyrolles steps into the African market, the partnership with UM6P highlights Morocco’s leading role in education and cultural development, setting an inspiring precedent for future collaborations across the continent.
