Rabat, 01/03/2025 – The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Albania reaffirmed their strong commitment to deepening their already excellent bilateral relations across multiple sectors during high-level discussions held in Rabat on Saturday.
In a joint statement following talks between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, both sides emphasized the strength of their diplomatic ties and pledged to further enhance cooperation in key areas, particularly economic, commercial, and cultural domains.
Strengthening Economic and Business Relations
The two ministers underscored the importance of fostering stronger economic and trade links, committing to launching initiatives aimed at bringing Moroccan and Albanian business communities closer. This move aligns with both countries’ ambitions to expand investment opportunities and facilitate mutual economic growth.
Boosting Tourism and People-to-People Exchanges
As part of efforts to enhance tourism and encourage cultural exchanges, Morocco has announced its decision to waive visa requirements for Albanian citizens traveling for short stays. This measure is expected to facilitate travel between the two nations, strengthen ties between their peoples, and further promote tourism and business opportunities.
Enhanced Cooperation in Diplomatic Training
A key highlight of the Albanian Foreign Minister’s visit was the signing of an agreement between the Moroccan Institute for Diplomatic Research and Studies and the Albanian Diplomatic Academy. This agreement will facilitate exchanges between diplomats from both countries, fostering knowledge-sharing and enhancing diplomatic training.
Strengthening Multilateral Cooperation
The two ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination and consultations within international organizations and multilateral bodies. Their cooperation in these forums is expected to advance shared interests and reinforce diplomatic collaboration on global issues.
Minister Hasani’s visit to Morocco, scheduled from March 1 to 4, marks an important step in the deepening of Moroccan-Albanian relations, reflecting a shared vision for a stronger and more dynamic partnership.
