A report from the Spanish Counterintelligence center, under the auspices of the Spanish Government’s Presidency, exonerates Morocco of any accusations of espionage and interference in Spain’s internal affairs.
In this way, the conclusions of this report unequivocally dismiss all doubts and accusations directed towards the Kingdom of Morocco regarding alleged espionage activities targeting the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, as well as senior Spanish government officials, using the “Pegasus” program.
It is important to note that senior Spanish officials had already denied these accusations in November 2022 during hearings before a European parliamentary committee investigating the use of the “Pegasus” program.
Similarly, in the same context, the Spanish National Court decided in July 2023 to close the “Pegasus” case due to lack of evidence.
