CoCo Lee, iconic Hong Kong singer and ‘Mulan’ voice actress, dies at 48

Hong Kong-born singer and actress CoCo Lee, renowned for her successful career spanning decades in music, film, and television, has passed away, as announced by her sisters on social media.

According to her sisters Carol and Nancy, CoCo Lee had been battling depression for several years and made a suicide attempt on Sunday. She was admitted to the hospital but sadly could not be revived from a coma, and she passed away on Wednesday at the age of 48.

In their statement, CoCo Lee’s sisters highlighted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of her singing career, during which she achieved numerous international accolades with best-selling songs and left audiences in awe with her exceptional live performances.

They also acknowledged CoCo’s tireless efforts to pave the way for Chinese singers in the international music scene, and her unwavering dedication to showcasing the talents of the Chinese community. They expressed their pride in her accomplishments and contributions.

The loss of CoCo Lee leaves behind a significant void in the entertainment industry, and she will be remembered for her immense talent, impact, and dedication to her craft.
