Morocco Reaffirms Solidarity with Gulf Allies Following Regional Tensions

On 28 February 2026, the Royal Office in Rabat released a statement detailing a series of telephone conversations held by His Majesty King Mohammed VI with several Gulf leaders.

During the calls, the Moroccan Sovereign spoke with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates; His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Sovereign of the Bahrain; His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of the Saudi Arabia and President of the Council of Ministers; and His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the Qatar.

According to the statement, King Mohammed VI reiterated Morocco’s unequivocal condemnation of the recent aggressions targeting the sovereignty and territorial security of these nations. He expressed the Kingdom’s full solidarity and unwavering support for any legitimate measures undertaken by the Gulf states to safeguard their stability and ensure the safety of their citizens.

The Sovereign emphasized the deep-rooted fraternal bonds linking Morocco with the Arab Gulf countries, underlining that their security and stability are inseparable from that of Morocco. Any threat to the Gulf region, he affirmed, constitutes a serious and unacceptable act of aggression and poses a direct risk to broader regional stability.

The statement reflects Morocco’s longstanding commitment to unity and mutual defense among Arab nations, reinforcing its strategic and historical ties with its Gulf partners in times of heightened regional tension.
