When I first arrived in Oualidia, a small coastal town nestled between El Jadida and Safi on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, I didn’t expect the experience to move me so deeply. Known for its tranquil lagoon, pristine beaches, and warm hospitality, Oualidia offers something truly rare in our fast-paced world — peace.
But what made my visit truly remarkable wasn’t just the breathtaking scenery or the crystal-clear waters. It was the story of a young local entrepreneur who turned his love for the sea into a mission to share Oualidia’s magic with the world.
That man is Yacine Joubaer, born on June 3, 1993, right here in Oualidia’s tourist district. He is the founder and heart behind Oualidia Vibes, a company that promotes tourism and outdoor activities while preserving the natural charm of this Moroccan paradise.
From Law Graduate to Ocean Dreamer
Yacine’s journey is both inspiring and unexpected. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Private Law from the Multidisciplinary Faculty of Safi and later a Master’s in Criminal and Security Sciences from Agadir, one might have imagined him pursuing a career in justice or public service.
But Yacine’s true calling lay elsewhere — in the gentle rhythm of the tides and the open sky above the lagoon.
“I always felt the sea calling me,” he told me, as we watched the sunset over the calm lagoon waters. “It’s where I find peace and inspiration. I wanted to share that feeling with others.”
The Birth of Oualidia Vibes
Out of that passion, Oualidia Vibes was born — not just as a tourism venture, but as a lifestyle experience. The company organizes activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing, horseback riding, and birdwatching, all carefully curated to immerse visitors in nature’s serenity.
Every experience is designed not only for fun and adventure but also for mental well-being — helping people slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.
“For me, Oualidia Vibes isn’t just about tourism,” Yacine explained. “It’s about energy — positive vibes that flow from the ocean, the wind, and the community. It’s about feeling alive again.”
A Vision Rooted in Community and Nature
What struck me most during my stay was Yacine’s deep respect for the environment and his commitment to sustainable tourism. He works with local guides, supports small businesses, and raises awareness about protecting Oualidia’s fragile lagoon ecosystem — home to flamingos, oyster farms, and countless marine species.
As I joined one of his team’s paddleboard tours across the lagoon, I understood what he meant by “vibes.” There’s a quiet connection that forms between you, the water, and the horizon — a reminder of how grounding nature can be.
Oualidia’s Spirit Lives in Its People
Walking through Oualidia’s narrow streets, tasting fresh seafood at local cafés, and hearing the laughter of children playing by the shore, I realized why travelers fall in love with this place. It’s not just the beauty of the lagoon — it’s the warmth of the people who call it home.
And in many ways, Yacine Joubaer embodies that spirit — ambitious yet humble, rooted in tradition yet open to the world.
A Message Beyond Tourism
As I packed my bags to leave, I thought about Yacine’s words:
“Oualidia Vibes isn’t just a business. It’s a feeling. Once you come here, you carry that peace with you wherever you go.”
He’s right. Oualidia has a way of staying with you — in the sound of the waves, the scent of salt in the air, and the calm it leaves in your heart.
For anyone seeking authenticity, adventure, and healing energy, Oualidia Vibes is more than just an experience — it’s a return to self.
