Morocco U17 Match
This crucial match, set for Thursday evening, will see Morocco face Zambia at 8 PM at Al Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia. It marks the second game in Group A of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U17), currently taking place in Morocco.
If the young Atlas Lions win, Morocco will qualify for the CAN U17 semifinals—before playing their third Group A match against Tanzania on Sunday. Additionally, they will also secure a spot in the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup.
This is because the four semifinalists of the CAN U17 automatically qualify for the U17 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar in 2025.
Such an achievement would be another milestone for Moroccan football, reflecting the technical development efforts made by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) in youth categories, both male and female.
In their opening match of the tournament, coach Nabil Baha’s impressive team secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Uganda, while Zambia defeated Tanzania 4-1.
As a reminder, Morocco finished as runners-up in the last edition of the CAN U17 in 2023, losing to Senegal in the final.
