Rabat, 24 June 2024 – In response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has issued Very High Instructions to launch a significant humanitarian medical aid operation for the Palestinian population. This initiative, announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, demonstrates Morocco’s unwavering solidarity with Palestine.
The aid operation, personally ordered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, comprises 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies. These supplies include equipment for treating burns, surgical and trauma emergencies, and vital medicines for both adults and children. The Ministry’s press release highlighted the comprehensive nature of the aid, underscoring its critical importance to the affected population.
A significant portion of this humanitarian effort is funded by the Sovereign’s personal funds, reflecting King Mohammed VI’s deep personal commitment to the Palestinian cause. The medical supplies will be transported using the same unprecedented land route previously utilized for the food aid operation during last Ramadan, showcasing the efficiency and dedication of Moroccan efforts.
