Manama – The efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in support of the Palestinian cause were prominently highlighted by Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, during the opening of the 54th session of the Arab Information Ministers’ Council in Manama on Wednesday.
Delivering a speech on behalf of Minister Bensaid, Morocco’s ambassador to Bahrain, Mustapha Benkhyi, emphasized Morocco’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He reiterated Morocco’s steadfast commitment to assisting the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights, particularly their right to establish an independent state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with Al-Quds as its capital.
Bensaid underscored the significant contributions of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, which operates under the personal supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who serves as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee. The agency is dedicated to improving the living conditions of the residents of the Holy City. With a budget of nearly 65 million dollars, the agency has successfully implemented 200 major projects, as well as numerous small and medium-sized initiatives, addressing economic, social, housing, education, and cultural needs.
Furthermore, Bensaid highlighted that Morocco’s presidency of the Arab Information Ministers’ Council coincides with a delicate period marked by significant geopolitical upheavals in the Arab region. He stressed the necessity of concentrating collective efforts on strengthening joint Arab media action, aiming to enhance its quality, adapt to changing circumstances, and improve its overall effectiveness.
The session in Manama served as a platform to acknowledge and commend the persistent efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in advocating for the Palestinian cause, reinforcing Morocco’s role as a pivotal player in the region’s media and communication landscape.
