Al-Quds – In a testament to the unwavering commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency initiated a humanitarian aid operation in the Holy City on Thursday. The launch took place on the esplanades of Augusta Victoria (Al Mutlaa) Hospital, in the presence of agency director Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, religious dignitaries, prominent figures from Al-Quds, and representatives of social institutions.
The humanitarian operation, undertaken at the behest of HM King Mohammed VI, underscores the enduring care and support provided to the city of Al-Quds and its inhabitants. For over a quarter of a century, the agency has operated under the direct supervision of His Majesty, contributing to the enhancement of the socio-economic conditions of Al-Quds residents and bolstering the city’s institutions.
The aid package comprises the distribution of 2,000 food baskets to 2,000 needy families, containing 22 essential products catering to various dietary requirements, including items suitable for children and those adhering to specific dietary regimes. Additionally, the operation includes the provision of 1,000 daily meals, addressing a significant portion of beneficiaries’ nutritional needs during this blessed month of Ramadan, particularly those affiliated with partner associations and individuals admitted to hospitals or residing in shelters.
In executing the food aid distribution, the agency has adhered to stringent regulations and a meticulously planned schedule, ensuring compliance with sanitary safety standards for all distributed products. Beneficiaries across various neighborhoods of Al-Quds, such as al-Balda al-Qadima, Silwan, Sheikh Jarrah, the Shu’fat camp, ath-Thori, Al-Isawiya, the Qalandia camp, and Al-Ram, will receive assistance as part of this operation.
The launch of this humanitarian initiative epitomizes HM King Mohammed VI’s enduring dedication to alleviating the plight of vulnerable communities and fostering socio-economic development in Al-Quds. Through such initiatives, the Kingdom of Morocco continues to exemplify its commitment to humanitarian principles and solidarity with the Palestinian people, reinforcing its status as a beacon of compassion and support in the region.
As the operation unfolds, it serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of collective action and international cooperation in addressing humanitarian crises and advancing the well-being of communities in need.
