In a splendid display of diplomatic hospitality, His Majesty King Mohammed VI was officially welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), at the “Qasr Al Watan” Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi. The ceremonial reception, held on Monday, showcased the deep respect and friendship between the two nations.
The grand welcome ceremony unfolded with a royal procession from the Palace entrance to the “Zayed” gate, escorted by a distinguished squadron of horsemen—an honor traditionally reserved for esteemed guests of the UAE. The royal motorcade, led by King Mohammed VI, traversed the route amid performances by Emirati folk troupes, offering a warm welcome through traditional songs and dances.
As the procession reached the “Al Hisn” gate, the “Al Fursan” national aerobatic team took to the skies, tracing ribbons of smoke in the distinctive red and green colors of the Moroccan flag. The skies echoed with a 21-gun salute, symbolizing the profound respect and honor extended to His Majesty the King.
Upon reaching the “Al Hisn” gate, His Majesty King Mohammed VI was warmly greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. The Heads of State exchanged pleasantries and proceeded to greet the national colors, accompanied by the rendition of both the Moroccan and Emirati national anthems. A detachment of Emirati land, naval, and air forces stood in formation, paying homage to the visiting sovereign.
Following the ceremonial proceedings, King Mohammed VI posed for a souvenir photo with His Brother HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. The King was then greeted by several high-ranking officials, including HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Vice-President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Khaleed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and other distinguished dignitaries.
The official Moroccan delegation accompanying His Majesty the King, comprising key figures such as HM the King’s Advisor Fouad Ali El Himma and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita, was introduced to the Emirati President.
The event concluded with expressions of mutual respect and a strong sense of fraternity between the two nations. The warm reception serves as a testament to the enduring bond and shared aspirations of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, reaffirming their commitment to bolstering diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties.
