Marrakech – His Majesty King Mohammed VI, made a compassionate visit on Tuesday afternoon to the “Mohammed VI” University Hospital in Marrakech. During the visit, the Sovereign inquired about the well-being of the injured individuals who had been affected by the devastating earthquake that occurred on Friday, September 8, causing significant human and material losses across various regions of the Kingdom.
His Majesty the King toured the resuscitation and hospitalization departments dedicated to earthquake victims, where the Sovereign received updates on the condition of the injured and the medical care they were receiving from the dedicated medical teams who were mobilized in the aftermath of this major natural disaster.
This heartfelt and moral gesture by His Majesty serves as an incredible source of support for the injured and their families. It reinforces the various initiatives and measures that have been undertaken, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, to rescue, assist, and provide support to those affected by the Al-Haouz earthquake.
In the Marrakech-Safi region, a total of 2,171 injured individuals were admitted to various hospitals, including 484 with severe injuries and 1,570 with minor injuries. Presently, 248 people are still hospitalized.
During this visit, His Majesty King Mohammed VI generously donated His own blood, a profound and compassionate gesture that exemplifies the Sovereign’s benevolence and underscores His full solidarity and empathy for the earthquake victims and their grieving families.
